Method:

  3. Add tamarind paste, tomatoes, and Bisibelebath Powder; sauté for a minute.

  4. Stir in the cooked rice–dal mixture, add water to adjust consistency, and simmer until creamy.

  5. Drizzle a little more ghee on top before serving hot.

2. Ghee Puliyogare

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (cooled)

  • 2–3 tbsp Puliyogare Paste

  • 1–2 tbsp ghee

  • A pinch of turmeric

  • Optional: roasted peanuts or cashews

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add turmeric, and mix in the Puliyogare Paste.

  2. Add the cooked rice and gently combine so the paste coats every grain.

  3. Toss in roasted peanuts or cashews for crunch.

  4. Serve warm with a side of curd, pickle, or papad.

3. Ghee Rice

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 2 cups water

  • 2–3 tbsp ghee

  • Whole spices: 1 bay leaf, 3 cloves, 1 small cinnamon stick, 2 cardamom

  • 1 small onion (optional)

  • Handful of cashews & raisins

  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a pot and fry cashews and raisins until golden; remove and set aside.

  2. In the same ghee, sauté whole spices until fragrant.

  3. Add onions (if using) and sauté lightly.

  4. Add washed rice, mix gently, then pour in water and salt.

  5. Cook on low heat until the rice is fluffy.

  6. Finish by topping with the roasted cashews and raisins.

4. Idli Sambar

Ingredients for Idli:

  • Idli batter

  • A few drops of oil for moulds

Ingredients for Sambar:

  • ½ cup toor dal

  • 1 cup chopped vegetables (carrot, drumstick, pumpkin, etc.)

  • 2 tbsp Sambar Powder

  • Tamarind extract

  • Mustard seeds, curry leaves, and ghee for tempering

  • Salt to taste

Method:
For Idlis:

  1. Grease the idli moulds lightly, pour the batter, and steam for 10–12 minutes.

For Sambar:

  1. Cook toor dal until soft.

  2. Boil vegetables in a separate pot until tender.

  3. Add Sambar Powder, tamarind extract, salt, and cooked dal.

  4. Simmer until everything blends together.

  5. Temper mustard seeds and curry leaves in a little ghee and pour over the sambar.
